Admission Requirements & Procedures

Admission to the College of Hair Design is open to anyone having a high school diploma or a Graduate Equivalency Degree (G.E.D.) certificate. An entrance exam is administered by an admissions officer when applying to attend College of Hair Design.

Each prospective student will complete an application form provided by the College of Hair Design (or on-line) and return it to the school with a deposit of $25.00. Applications should be submitted three to six months in advance of desired starting date to assure a reservation in the class of your choice. The deposit will be applied to tuition. A personal interview with our admissions officer along with a tour of the school is also a part of the enrollment process.

Acceptance to the school is based on desire and ability to benefit from training. No one will be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, or sex.

Applicants will be notified to schedule the signing of an enrollment agreement. Applicants under the age of 19 will require the signature of a parent or guardian. A registration fee of $125.00 is due at this time and will be applied to the tuition.

Sixty days prior to the start date of a class, the prospective student should:

  1. Have their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file with the Financial Aid Office, or have an approved payment plan set up with the Business Office. The College of Hair Design offers Financial Aid to those who qualify.
  2. Pay the $125 enrollment fee balance.
  3. Sign the enrollment agreement and if applicable, their Stafford Promissory Loan note.
  4. Submit a high school diploma or GED certificate and birth certificate.
  5. Complete entrance exam.

Students who have not completed the above items may not be able to start in the upcoming class.

An orientation meeting will be held prior to the starting date. At this time, students are required to furnish a copy of their high school diploma and their birth certificate.
