The purpose of the Cosmetology Student Instructor Program is to prepare a licensed Cosmetologist to instruct all phases of the cosmetology course (both theoretical and practical) to cosmetology students. Upon completion, the student instructor would be qualified to take the Nebraska State Cosmetology Instructors Board Exam and receive a license to instruct Cosmetology in the State of Nebraska at an entry level.

Admission requirements for a Student Instructor include: Hold a current license as a cosmetologist in Nebraska, have completed formal education equivalent to a United States high school education or its equivalent, and be interviewed and accepted for enrollment by management.

Cosmetology Student Instructor Graduation Requirements Top
  • Cosmetology License prerequisite
  • 925 clock hours in a period of not less than 6 months as required by the State of Nebraska
  • Satisfactory completion of 25 Unit Layouts, (with 5 of those broken down into daily lesson plans)
  • Pass the written examination with a score of 80%
  • Pass each the theory and practical presentations with an 80% score
  • Return of all books &/or supplies loaned to the student
  • All financial obligations to the school met
  • Students utilizing Federal Financial Aid must complete Exit Counseling

A Cosmetology Instructor diploma will be awarded at a graduation ceremony held five times a year.
