All of the Pivot Point course books work in combination with Pioneer Laser DiscÂȘ
technology. These books include:
- Hair Design
- Long Hair Design
- Ladies Hair Sculpture
- Perm Design
- Hair Sculpture-Men
- Color Design
- People Skills
Laser discs takes teaching to a higher plane. This easy-to-use technology is to
the videotape, what the compact disc is to the cassette tape. The resolution produced
by a laser disc is approximately 65% better than seen on the best video system.
New four-color student workbooks and teacher's guide are bar-coded to work with
the laser disc. This means no more fast forwarding and rewinding through video tapes
to find the section you need. By scanning the bar codes at the beginning of each
lesson you have instant access to that specific lesson.
Laser discs then allow you to watch a presentation in motion from any of the texts
previously listed at actual speed on the television screen. Implementing the slow
motion feature allows you to identify critical hand and tool positions. Laser discs
also allow you to freeze a specific frame with perfect clarity and to remain fixed
on an individual frame indefinitely. Interaction between the instructor and students
helps to solidify specific concepts.
This feature is also great for students who are studying on their own. By interacting
with the audiovisual portion of the system, they're able to reinforce the information
from the textbook and instructor in a way that makes learning fun and interesting.
Twice a year Pivot Point releases a new Design Forum - Continuing Education Course
book and laser disc. These Design Forum releases bring the latest in hair design
trends and techniques to you, our students, sometimes before many salons have been
trained in them.
